Barcalomond Under 8 Team
Barcalomond under 8's will be for children born in 2001 or 2002. We plan to start training on FRIDAY 28th MARCH between 7pm and 8pm at Meadow Sports centre Dumbarton.
Barcalomond welcome all children of all abilities who want to take part in and learn about team work and engage in various games and activities. And most importantly... HAVE FUN !
Formed in 2007 we have now grown to three teams participting in West Dunbartonshire Leagues. In that year we have had a fantastic time and launched some new initiatives. One of which is an association with CHAS with whom we aim to raise awareness and money via a number of team and social events throughout the year.
In our short time we have travelled to St Andrews where, as guests of FC Barcelona, the then Under 10s team got to watch and meet stars such as Eto, Ronaldinho, Henry, Frank Rijkaard and more. A day none of us will ever forget.
We had a fantastic day at Kevin Keegans Soccer Circus where all 55 players who attended received coaching and training from Kevin himself, and he now has one of our strips on display.
This month saw us travel to Broadwood Stadium where we watched Scotland Under 19s play Holland. Again a new expierence for many and one that we aim to repeat at other venues.
So as Barcelona are "more than a club" we not only model our strips on the great team, but the sense of community, local involvement and ownership of the club by the players and families who join us.
